I am Laura Terese
I am an Idaho mixed-media artist inspired by nature, memory, and the wonder of childhood. Through layers of acrylic paint, handmade collage, and treasured pieces of my daughter’s childhood drawings, I create whimsical, heartfelt artwork celebrating connection, belonging, and the idea that home is something we carry within us.
My story
I grew up in a small mountain town in Idaho, surrounded by the landscapes, animals, and everyday moments that still find their way into my paintings. My grandmother introduced me to painting, and with my parents’ encouragement, I kept making art throughout my childhood.
I left Idaho with dreams of becoming a designer. Over the next two decades, I created visual and digital experiences for small businesses and global companies, while continuing to draw and make art of my own. Coming home to Idaho gave me space to reconnect with the artist I was before I became a designer. Today, I create mixed media paintings that weave together memories, nature, and pieces of everyday life. My work reflects a journey away from home and back again—and the feeling that home is something we carry with us.
