Laura Terese Art
Hello there!
I am Laura Terese
I often reflect on growing up in McCall, Idaho, where nature and family shaped many of my most meaningful memories. These early experiences continue to influence my work and my understanding of home, not just as a place, but as a feeling we carry within us.
Through whimsical, folk-inspired storytelling, I explore memory, personal transformation, and the quiet moments that shape who we are. Working in acrylic and mixed media, I create layered compositions using color, texture, and symbolic imagery drawn from nature, animals, and the human figure.
My process is intuitive, allowing each piece to unfold over time. Influenced by folk-art traditions, my work embraces expressive color, flattened forms, and storytelling. Each painting becomes a small narrative of growth, healing, and renewal, an invitation to reflect, remember, and reconnect with a sense of home within ourselves.

My story
Raised on a family farm in McCall, Idaho, I grew up surrounded by open land, animals, and native wildlife. Living closely with nature and the changing seasons shaped my connection to place, storytelling, and the beauty found in everyday moments.
My grandmother introduced me to painting, sparking a lifelong love of art. With the encouragement of my parents, this early experience inspired me to continue exploring and developing my artistic voice.
After leaving home, I built my career as a professional designer, I continued to explore illustration and personal art alongside my work. Designing visual and digital experiences for organizations ranging from small businesses to global companies deepened my approach to storytelling, composition, and thoughtful design.
Today, I am expanding my fine art practice, developing a body of mixed media paintings rooted in personal history, symbolism, and narrative. Through my involvement in the local arts community, I actively share my work, collaborate with other artists, and help cultivate a growing culture of creativity and connection in Idaho.
